(FY2017 Federal Drug Control Budget Request) "In FY 2017, a total of $31.1 billion is requested by the President to support National Drug Control Strategy (Strategy) efforts to reduce drug use and its consequences in the United States. The President’s Budget includes a request for $1.1 billion in new funding to address the misuse of opioid medications and the use of heroin. For FY 2017, the President’s Budget includes increased funding of more than $500 million (1.7 percent) over the enacted FY 2016 level of $30.6 billion."
